International declaration on the 2nd anniversary of the Zionist genocide against the Palestinian people

The defeat of Zionist barbarism in Gaza is an urgent necessity for the workers of the world

The horrific images circulating day after day from Gaza and occupied Palestine show beyond all doubt the genocidal nature of Israel's actions. Its aim, with the indispensable collaboration of US and UE imperialism, is to wipe the heroic Palestinian people off the map and take over their territories.

The recent order to displace one million Palestinians from the ruined city of Gaza is a new death march planned by the butchers Netanyahu, Ben Gvir, and their entire rotten and inhumane regime. At the same time, with the expansion of settlements in the West Bank, the declared goal is its definitive integration, the creation of conditions that will make even the viability of autonomous Palestinian enclaves impossible, with escalating ethnic cleansing actions there as well. The planned famine, the demolitions and bombings, the water and electricity cuts, the murders and mutilations of tens of thousands of children—in short, the atrocities of all kinds committed by the IDF cannot go unpunished.

Despite the genocide, resistance is alive and continues to be an insurmountable obstacle for Israel. The Zionist government's growing need to resort to emergency measures, including the possibility of general military mobilization of the civilian population, is increasingly apparent, indicating a conflict that is bogged down and will not be easily won.

Protests in Israel are beginning to break through internal censorship and repression. Mass demonstrations have taken place, expressing strong discontent with the government. Thousands of Jewish citizens are organizing in Israel and around the world to say that genocide will not be carried out in their name. Meanwhile, the population of the West Bank is resisting new Israeli attacks and the barbarism of the settlers.

There is no doubt that the genocide against the Palestinian people is part of a redesign of the Middle East. The United States under the Trump administration, like Biden before them, want to carve up borders with their daggers. Not to give autonomy to the peoples, but to subjugate them in accordance with this new division. The US and Israel (regardless of presidents and governments) are pursuing the “New Middle East”, that presupposes the recognition of the Zionist state by the Arab countries and the promotion of an India-Gulf-Israel-Europe economic corridor as a counterweight to the Chinese “Silk Road”, which has Iran as a key link in the region.

Israel's actions would be unthinkable without the strong support of US bombs and dollars and those of its European Union partners. The differentiation of some European governments is more related to the EU's attempt (with internal contradictions of course) to revitalize its role on the international stage, in an era of global war preparations.

The stance of the BRICS countries refutes the analysis that a "multipolar world" will help the liberation of Palestinian people and oppressed peoples in general. At the last BRICS Summit, the term genocide was not used, and the member countries have not only not taken any measures against Israel, but are continuing their economic and trade relations, including arms trade, as normal. Specifically, China is Israel's largest importer as a country and comes in 2nd with exports of $19 billion in 2024. Russia had trade transactions with Israel of around $4 billion in 2024. With the exception of South Africa, the BRICS countries have not taken any diplomatic measures, not even symbolically,

Qatar, recently attacked by Israel, joins the list of countries that have suffered Zionist bombing: Yemen, Iran, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Jordan, Egypt, Tunisia, Palestine. The call for a defensive alliance, which would have Turkey—a NATO member—as one of its leaders, should be seen as part of the bidding and divisions over the rediscussion of the Middle East. And not as an alliance against imperialism and colonialism in the Palestinian territories.

This bloc insists on a “two-state” solution, an attempt that clashes, today more than ever, with reality. Put into perspective, it implies the ambition of regional powers to meddle in Gaza, through an agreement with Zionism and imperialism.

But the continuity of the state of Israel is incompatible with both the liberation of the Palestinian people and lasting peace. The genocidal Zionist state must be dismantled stone by stone. It is necessary to disarm its army, its armed settlers, its racial segregation, its prisons, its walls, and the apparatus of resource plunder and capitalist profit that, in alliance with Western imperialism, sustains it. And no less importantly, to apply the right of return for the millions expelled by Israel. Only a single, secular, and socialist Palestine, within the framework of broader revolutionary changes in the region, linked to a common anti-capitalist, socialist struggle of Arab and Jewish workers to replace the current state of Israel and overthrow monarchies and reactionary regimes.

The vast movement of solidarity with Palestine, which spans all continents and borders, is gaining momentum and beginning to reverse trends: popular support is increasingly on the side of the Palestinian people and the denunciation of genocide.

Actions such as the humanitarian flotilla, the caravan to Gaza, the protests in Greek resorts, and the statements by cultural figures illustrate the massiveness and acceptance that this cause has attracted.

Therefore, we must note the repositioning of various governments, such as the recent case of the Spanish state, which have made statements against genocide but, for the moment, without translating them into concrete actions. We are faced with a deceitful tactic, typical of capitalist governments, which seeks to curry favor with a rising popular wave without compromising the economic interests of the capitalists. Meanwhile, mass raids against demonstrations in support of Palestine continue in countries where the far right and neo-Nazis express themselves freely, such as Germany and the United Kingdom. The global solidarity movement calling for a ceasefire and an end to the genocide is heterogenous and contradictory. However, the objective of Palestine liberation, as that of all peoples, can only be achieved through a clear, anti-capitalist and anti-imperialist strategy. “Democratic fronts” with the bourgeoisie are as useless for Palestine as they are for fighting fascism. We struggle against the Zionist massacre together with all those willing, while making no political concessions to political forces that condemned the “violence of the Palestinian resistance” by initially taking equal distances that reproduced the narrative of resistance as “terrorism”.

It is necessary to implement and demand strong measures, starting with breaking all ties with Israel. This includes the provision of military equipment, but also economic and technological support. It is false that Israel presents one genocidal face and another “defensive” one, as U.S. Congresswoman Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) said when voting in favor of military aid to the Zionist state. Therefore, workers' reactions to genocide must be especially valued: blocking ports, transport, and the production of goods or services destined for the genocidal state. Denouncing and combating war budgets and preparations for war in our own countries. Demonstrating against NATO, US, and other military bases. Down with governments that plunge the people into war and hunger.

The struggle against genocide and support for the heroic Palestinian resistance is an urgent matter for all working humanity. We must put on the bench of the accused those responsible for this oppression: capitalism and its governments, the imperialist division of the world. This movement is also a seed of international solidarity among workers and oppressed peoples. The Palestinian cause is reactivating struggles and demands in every country. That is why governments fear and repress it. Let us wave the Palestinian flag high. Their victory will be a step towards the emancipation of workers and towards socialism. The total war turn of capitalism requires decisive steps for a new revolutionary response, for a strong internationalist anti-capitalist Left and a labor movement with an anti-war struggle, with political independence against the rival capitalist blocs and the bourgeois classes. Because, no part of the earth will be truly free, without FREE PALESTINE!

Immediate end to the genocide and starvation of the Palestinian people!

Immediate and unconditional withdrawal of Zionist troops and settlers from Gaza and the West Bank!

No to the deportation of the people of Gaza!

Stop the Zionist machine of destruction and death, its protectors and accomplices!

Stand with the struggle for liberation of the oppressed masses of Palestine against Zionist-Western colonialism!

Free Palestine from the river to the sea!

For a single, secular, democratic, and sovereign state for all of Palestine, open to all without discrimination based on religion or race.

For a socialist union of the peoples of the Middle East free from imperialist domination and capitalism!

Workers and the oppressed of the world, unite!
