The Syndicate of Workers of Tehran and Suburbs Bus Company, strongly objects to the Evin prison authorities’ deliberate obstruction of transferring Davood Razavi to the hospital and strongly condemns any behavior that is not within the framework of the laws and standards of defending the rights of a prisoner

The Evin prison authorities have canceled [the second time] the sending of imprisoned labour activist Davood Razavi, a member of the board of directors of the Syndicate of Workers of Tehran and Suburbs Bus Company, to the hospital on the pretext of refusing to wear prison uniform.

According to the previous coordination with the hospital, Yesterday, Monday, Tir 5, 1402 [Monday, June 26, 2023] Davood Razavi was scheduled to be sent to the hospital for an endoscopy, but due to refusing to wear prison uniform, the Evin prison’ officials prevented him from being sent to the hospital.

Davood Razavi's physical conditions has become much worse during the long interrogations, solitary confinements, and being under pressures, but the prison authorities prevent him from being sent to the hospital due to his adherence to the recognized international laws in defense of the basic rights of prisoners. This hostile and intentional action of the prison’s authorities will make the illness of this imprisoned worker more critical day by day.
