Confirmation of the ruling of the Court of first instance (a trial court) against the imprisoned worker, Davood Razavi, in the injustice court of appeal

The family of Davood Razavi [a member of the board of directors of the Syndicate of Workers of Tehran and Suburbs Bus Company] has been informed by his defense lawyer that on June 27, 2023, the bill of protest against the unfair sentence issued against this imprisoned worker, was submitted to the appeals court, and while they were waiting for the appeals branch to be determined, on July 2, 2023, in a notification that was sent to his lawyer, it was written that the case was sent to the Branch 36 for review and investigation, and the sentence of 5 years of imprisonment for Davood Razavi has been confirmed in the appeals court. Meaning that the decision of the appeals court was issued and finalized within two days from the time that Davood’s case was transferred from the branch 15 to the branch 36.

We will not forget that by breaking even your own laws, you hold the appeal court of a jailed worker so fast, hastily, and without any concessions, but the case of your "insider" embezzlers takes years to be "investigated" and finally they are either going to be acquitted or they are unremittingly outside the prison despite the ostensibility of the sentences that they receive.

The Syndicate of Workers of Tehran and Suburbs Bus Company is strongly protesting the approval of the cruel verdict issued against Davood Razavi in the appeals court. As a worker and a member of the board of directors of our union, defending the basic rights of workers, is the only ‘crime” that Davood Razavi has committed. The baseless accusations and the opening of a cases against Davood Razavi have no legal basis and legitimacy, and if there was an independent and fair "appeal court" in our country, Razavi should have been acquitted and released.

The Syndicate of Workers of Tehran and Suburbs Bus Company demands the unconditional release of its imprisoned members, Davood Razavi, Hassan Saeidi, Reza Shahabi, and all other workers, teachers, and civil rights activists.
