The Syndicate of Workers of Tehran and Suburbs Bus Company (SWTSBC) statement on the earthquake in Turkey and Syria

Our deepest sympathy and condolences on the devastating earthquake in Turkey and Syria

The two major earthquakes and aftershocks in southeastern Turkey and northern Syria have so far killed more than 5,000 people and injured tens of thousands of people in these two countries, causing a widespread destruction.

The Turkish Transport Workers' Union has issued a statement in this regard, in which it expressed its condolences to the families and relatives of the victims of this earthquake and to all other people.

"We are all deeply sorry for the loss of life in the earthquake disaster that occurred this morning in the Pazarjik region of Kahramanmarash, which unfortunately had severe effects in the surrounding provinces.

The fact that though our country has three major fault lines, it is located in an earthquake zone, but yet despite all the earthquake disasters, the necessary preparations have still not been made, the scientists' warnings have been ignored, and no serious studies have yet been conducted, has increased our anger as well as our pain.”

The earthquake problem should not be remembered only after the devastating earthquakes. We declare that serious and planned work should be done as soon as possible to prevent new disasters, and we ask all officials to do their duty in this regard.

The Syndicate of Workers of Tehran and Suburbs Bus Company (SWTSBC) expresses its sincere condolences and deepest sympathy to the victims of this tragedy and the affected people in Turkey and Syria, as well as to our fellows in the Turkish Transport Workers' Union, the other workers, the labor and people's organizations in Turkey and Syria.

With the hope of the spread of justice in the whole world
