Fight Against Imperialist Barbarism and Repression! - Statement of SEP (Turkey)

The genocide carried out by the Zionist, criminal State of Israel in Gaza, fully supported by imperialism, and its new plans for the Middle East, clearly demonstrate to workers around the world the extreme brutality of capitalist barbarism. For years, youth and workers were told there was “no alternative,” and the so-called “Western democracies” were held up as examples—but today, once again, that mask has fallen. Beneath the veneer of democracy lies the harsh reality: the preservation of inequalities produced by the capitalist mode of production, the maintenance of the capitalist system, and the silencing of workers.

This situation is not confined to the Middle East. In Turkey, under Erdoğan’s leadership, the AKP government acts in full alignment with imperialist interests, complicit in the bloodshed of regional peoples. Serving as the enforcer of imperialist regional agendas, this government seeks to maintain its tyranny by closing down all avenues of democratic activity. Universities, unions, and public spaces are being suppressed, while poverty, repression, and exploitation deepen. All progressive forces in society are targeted for the survival of the AKP and capital, and freedom of thought and organization is being destroyed.

Yet the peoples of the world do not bow to this barbarism. Against the genocide in Gaza, millions of workers and youth are taking to the streets in the imperialist heartlands, sending a powerful message. The refusal by Italian port workers to load ships carrying weapons to Israel, and the general strikes called by workers in Italy and Spain for the first time in many years, are among the most concrete examples of this honorable struggle. This is the true response: class solidarity, organization, and action! The only way to oppose the barbarity of capitalism is through the international unity of workers and youth.

Today, a new generation of youth is rising up across the globe. From Indonesia to Nepal, from Madagascar to Latin America, millions believe that a new path and a new world are possible. As we saw during the March 19 process in Turkey, here, youth are questioning, organizing, and rising once more.

Our future will not belong to capitalist barbarism, but to a socialist world free of exploitation and classes, rising from its ruins! Fight to free ourselves from imperialism and capitalist barbarism!

Long live international solidarity!
Long live the international struggle and unity of the working class!
Long live socialism!
